It's AMP's fifth anniversary, and we're having a party! If you're stopping by from fellow AMP author Viki Lyn's blog, or from anywhere else for that matter, welcome. We're celebrating with virtual champagne, a Kindle giveaway, other great freebies, and lots of dancing!
I'm thrilled to promote my debut book HARD BARGAIN, which is the first in my Dream Cruise Desires series. HARD BARGAIN is about Jenna and Brad, two headstrong attorneys on opposite sides of a law firm merger. They discover fighting over business doesn't stop them from merging in a much more personal way.
Shameless promo alert: here's the cover. Isn't it lovely?

Much of the story takes place in the Detroit suburbs, which I'm proud to call home. Around here, people cruise Woodward Avenue all summer to show off their beautifully restored classic cars. People also park their cars along Woodward, pop the hood, and hang out in lawn chairs to talk cars with other enthusiasts. On really busy days, it's like one big outdoor car museum. Even though Dream Cruise is officially on the third Saturday in August, the cars start appearing when the weather gets nice. Michigan summers are far too short, so we enjoy them while we can.
Oh, I mentioned freebies! If you comment on any blog in the AMP tour between August 1 and August 7, you'll be entered to win a shiny new Kindle. How cool is that? Contest rules are here. Also, I'm giving away one copy of HARD BARGAIN to a randomly chosen commenter on my own blog. Feel free to say hello, tell me about yourself, or share your favorite car-related story (keep it PG, please -- it's a family show. :D).
Next stop on the AMP anniversary

There is nothing better than American Muscle when it comes to cars. My dream car is a 1967 Fire Engine Red Mustang, numbers must match and I prefer and floor shift than column. Next would be the Camero and then a Shelby.
Yes, I'm really big gearhead. Drives my mother crazy. LOL!

Oh favorite car story I am married to a gear head whose car I refer to as his mistress. LOL So there you have it. Great Blog my dear.
My favorite car story, well, I fell in love with this guy because he drove a supped up Mazda 626--when they were the shiznit...lol. He turned out to be a huge jerk though.
I look forward to reading Hard Bargain. It definitely sounds like something I'd read.
I can't say I have any good car stories...I've only owned a car for 5 months now! Although, I did switch auto insurance last week and my local agent immediately offered to buy my car if I ever thought about selling it (haha it's a '98 Honda Accord).
Look forward to reading Hard Bargain.
No car stories here, though married to a man who drools over old time corvettes everytime he sees one drive by.

Your blog looks great :)
Hard Bargain sounds like a great book! Two headstrong attorneys, that should get interesting :P
I love M/F characters that are destined for love but are both strong willed and hardheaded!
Thank you for the giveaway!

My H used to have 69' Dodge Charger, dark green with a hardtop 440. It was his baby. He had to sell it cause I told him I wasn't paying anymore speeding tickets....*S*
He want to restore a Barracuda on day, and I hope he does. I've been a Dodge truck girl since I had mine for 23 years...I miss my baby.
Thank you for the contest and sharing a bit about yourself too!

What is it about lawyer stories that are so fun? Yours sounds right up my alley! Favorite car story? One of my college BFFs had a midnight curfew and we were hanging out at a bar (where I grew up, that's about it for hangouts) and her curfew was looming. With 10 mins to spare, we jumped in my little Monza 2+2 V-8...13 miles from home. In a downpour. I ended up hydroplaning like we were on a tilt-a-whirl, I knew we were going to die. The car slid to a halt, bumped a guardrail and we were like OMG, we're alive! A car pulled up behind us, I waved the driver on with a "We're okay!" gesture. He pulled up along side...it was a cop. He'd seen the whole thing. Three days later, he saw me out and about and stopped me again. "Just wanted to say hello, Speedy!"
Not huge on cars, but there is a sweet 67 GTO coupe convertible for sale down the street--tempted to buy it for my teenage daughter...but then I'd have to borrow it--a lot!
Congrats on your release of Hard Bargain!
Hi Grace,
As your blog popped up on the screen I smiled. That saying at the top was something my dad always said, and Grace is my mother's nam. They're both deceased, but I smiled at the coincidence, none the less. Congrats on your debut release. Yes, the cover is beautiful and it sounds like a fun read. Continued blessings on all of your endeavors.

Umm, my first car was an orange VW Bug. I got a bumper sticker for it that said, "This is NOT an abandoned vehicle!" My dad and stepbrother took a big sharpie and crossed out "NOT". *sigh*

Congratulations on Hard Bargain, Grace! Sounds like a great story! As for cars, I loved looking at the beautiful photos of the fast ones, but my first was an ancient Datsun 210, aptly named Pumpkin for its orange color. Thankfully it ran just fine for the time I had it; I passed it onto a friend when I was done :)

Love your book cover Grace, and your post! I'm driving my dream car which I purchased five years ago for my birthday - a red (with a white top) Mini Cooper. It's just too darn fun and I always smile when I step into the garage and see it parked there.
I'm having a blast visiting all the cool blog sites - So I'm off to Andy Dunn's place next. All the best, Viki Lyn
never been to Detroit, but Woodward Avenue sounds like a blast. Great blog.
Heya Grace....I live on the west side. Love, love LOVE the Dream Cruise! We have a friend who lives at 9 Mile, we park our car there and walk the Woodward walk!! Probably not this year, unless something happens with this weather. ;)
